2-AP-labeled glycans have been used in a number of studies including:

• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant glycoproteins from mammalian and insect cells [Takahashi et al (1998), Hsu et al (1997)]
• Glycoproteins from liver [Towatari et al (1998]
• Immmunoglobulins [Yamada (1997)].

Techniques suitable for analysis of 2-AP-labeled oligosaccharides include :

• Multi-dimensional HPLC [Takahashi et al (1998)]
• MALDI-MS [Okamoto (1997)]
• Electrospray-tandem mass spectrometry [Morelle et al (1998)]

The kit contains two sets of the following reagents (supplied in glass ampoules sealed under pure nitrogen):

• 2-aminopyridine(2-AP dye)
• Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)
• Acetic acid
• Sodium cyanoborohydride

Dye purity: > 99% by HPLC. Soluble in water, DMSO, and ethanol. M.W. 94. lambda-ex = 295 nm, lambda-em = 352 nm.
