Notes
2-AB (2-aminobenzamide) is one of the most widely used fluorescent labels for glycosylation analysis.

Please note that there are a number of different conditions described in the literature for glycan labelling with 2-AB. This kit uses the conditions used by Bigge et al (1995). Please contact us if you would like to use other labeling conditions.

Kit Specifications
The kit contains two sets of the following reagents (15 samples per kit) supplied in glass ampoules sealed under pure nitrogen:

  • 2-aminobenzamide (2-AB dye)
  • Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO)
  • Acetic acid
  • Sodium cyanoborohydride

One kit contains reagents to label up to 30 separate analytical samples per kit.

Dye purity: > 99% by HPLC. Soluble in DMSO and ethanol. M.W. 137. lambda-ex = 320 nm, lambda-em = 420 nm.

    Glycan Labeling Cleanup Cartridge

LudgerClean S cartridges are used for the purification of glycans after fluorescent labeling, including QA-Bio's LudgerTag 2-AB (2-aminobenzamide) and 2-AA (2-aminobenzoic acid) labeling kits.

The procedure is very straightforward. The sample is loaded onto the cartridge's adsorption disc that has been primed with acetonitrile. The glycans adsorb onto the disc matrix while excess dye is removed by washing with an acetonitrile/water mix. The glycans are then desorbed by simply washing with water.

    Glycan Cleanup Cartridges

LudgerClean E cartidges have been designed for purification of glycans from proteins, salts, and detergents.

The cartridges contain a 10 mg bed of Ludger Electron Interaction Resin (EIR). This unique material contains very flat regions of pi-orbital electrons that interact with hydrophilic organic compounds including glycans.

The resin can capture a wide range of glycans from complex mixtures while salts and certain detergents pass through. The glycans are then eluted from the cartridge using a simple solvent system.

The cartridge housing is constructed of polypropylene and is compatible with many automated sample preparation systems.
